VIP's RETURN

Today was our first soccer game of the season. Sometimes I wish I had more time to myself....and I can get a little disgruntled on my way to a game....but it never fails....i always walk away more at peace with "life".

This is Brenden. He is darling. He is truly in a world of his own....diconnected most of the time. His sister comes to the games to help him. I am amazed at how his family copes. Be thankful for your abilities today....whatever they are!! Emmaline is new to the team this year. She is in 4th grade. She is very sweet and loves to play soccer. She suffers from selective mutism and has never spoken a word in school. I carry on with dialogue as we play and practice. Then I'll ask an easy question...like: "what grade are you in?" I hang on to every twinge in her face thinking she is going to talk......then suddenly she whips up 4 fingers at me! Her mother laughs as i haave told her of my goal to get Emmaline to talk....."good luck" she replies!

Remember Eric McClintock. He is our philosopher. His speeches are always aimed at inspiring his teammates. Today he started his speech like this: "ok guys...here we are again....First i want to say that we must always listen to the women..." he went on....and we laughed...and the coach form Montoursville laughed....it is quite precious!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR FATHER

We haven't forgotten all the great lessons in life that you taught us. We appreciate hard work and the value of a dollar. We understand the importance of eating right and getting adequate exercise. Some still act like peasants putting steak sauce on their beef, but i think most of us like it pink, juicy, grilled only seconds beyond being "done." We grill in the winter. We buy gigantic Christmas trees. We make sure we turn out all the lights and inspect the house for stupid shit before retiring to bed.

We talk about you often and Celebrate your birthday every year with "a box cake" that has the inscription "Happy Birthday Jerry."

We vote. and whoever takes mom to vote...gets her vote! Want a third vote...take Aric. Imagine that dad...the good ole government lets Aric vote. Ha.

They still can't make movies in Hollywood. The drugs they take are synthetic and im sure are frying their brains faster. When I cut my toast I think of you (that would be daily)....I remember how you like it corner to corner!!!

We now understand how easy it is to call your children by their wrong name. We argue about politics and religion and the economy with you in mind. We tell funny stories like the one where Aric was pushing your wheelchair and he decided to take you down Gehrons Hill and...well...you sort of got away and Aric couldn't keep up and then your wheelchair took a sharp turn and you hit the pavement. And then...you laughed...and said..."oh Jesus Ch...st.....What the hell are you doing?"

And there was the time that you went with Betsy and mom to KMart. but you didn't go in the store because...well...getting around was getting difficult for you. It was easier for you to wait in the car....and you waited...and waited....and finally you decided..."the hell with it." and though you didn't have a license you decided to drive away. Hell the city was in a panic. The police combed loyalsock.....Billy was so upset....a heli"cop"ter was sent up to try to locate your vehicle. Everyone was concerned about what could happen...that you and or others would end up hurt. Finally.....we found you.....sitting at home in your chair reading the paper!!! You were pleased with yourself......we were amazed!!!!

We didn't always give you credit for just how much you were paying attention. We drove you to Philly, and you sat slouched on the front seat....reading the paper. Betsy and I talkedback and forth for 10 minutes about where the turn might be....things looked familiar....we had written directions...we compared notes. We were on the right road. Hmmmmmmmmm.....Then as if you had a hole in the paper that you were reaading....you gently dropped it down in front of your face and said very softly, "turn here." From there you guided us to the front door of Marcia's house.

You were finnesse that way. And we remember. We miss you.

SUCH A GREAT PIC!

Happy Birthday Dad and thank you for marrying mom and being so damn horny!!!!!

John and Barb have fond memories of hanging out with you on Friday nights and going to Town and Country at 10 pm to pick up mom. We loved this night because you took us to Stop and Go and to the A&W Drive in. (cant turn that pic around...sorry)

You were the Golden Pair!!!! Congratulations for that Milestone. We appreciate the dedication that you had to one another!!!! So honorable! HAPPY 50th!!!!

You loved the Y....When you took Aric we would say..."what a pair, one can't talk and the other can't walk." You were so determined....nothing would stop you from going. Not even the Blizzard of 95 (i think that was the year). No one can fill your shoes dad.....hell we would trip and fall if we attempted. Besides....your shoes are in the smithsonian....they were definitely museum material!!!

APRIL 19th is a blessed day. Not only can't they make movies in Hollywood....they don't make nearly as many simple, good hearted, hard working, devoted dads like you!

Much LOVE to you.

The cake is delicious...."who the hell is Jerry anyway?" Love Barb

Hi mom,
Just discovered the blog, (I only view emails about once a month), anyway it is a great "idear", as Bill would say. We will be going through our library of pictures and hope to post some pics of you soon. You look great! Love the hip sneakers too.
We are sorry our last time together, over Valentines Day, was spent in the dark, (2 days of power outage), but cooking on the gas top with 50 candles to give us light was like an adventure. We are looking forward to having you spend some time with us again soon. Waiting for the weather to break so we can take you to the shore to hang out.
Love,
Marcia and Bill

Good morning mom mom. Next time when you come to visit we can take Sally for a walk.
I remember last year when my mom took you for a bike ride on the tandum bike. You rode the length of the entire bike path and at about the 7th mile you started to complain about your hiney......the longer you rode, the more you complained. My mom kept reminding you that at the end of the bike ride you would stop for some ice cream. Tired of hearing her repetitive remarks you finally blurted out...."yea well when i finally get it....i wont be eating it." Nancy Bittner and my mom were laughing so hysterically that they had to stop riding before they crashed. You enjoyed the ice cream that day but it took 10 minutes to convince you to get back on the bike. The bikes are getting tuned up...Ted put a nice cushy seat on yours. Pray for warm weather. Love Aric

Mom (Barb), I am SO impressed...I guess you all have to know how much we kids have to go through technology-wise to get this kind of thing to happen usually. I love to see pictures of mom-mom, flowers, ice cream...afterall, we just got another snow storm a few days ago...ARGGGG. Teddy and I dont really have any updated pictures together but we took this one a while ago to send to Jenny in Africa. Love you Mom-Mom!!!

Enjoying our Mother

Sue the kids and I really enjoyed having mom the last couple of days. I just love the old sayings she comes up with, such as, "Two buckles down" the expression on the kids faces is priceless. Anyway's thanks to Tim and Doreen for meeting me in Lamar to pick up mom. I usually have to beg one of the kids to ride along and Jake agreed this time. I can assure you, the next time I ask Jake to ride along the conversation will probably be something like this.

Dad: Hey Jake, want to ride with me to get Mum mum?
Jake: Is Aunt Doreen bringing Mum mum?
Dad: I don't know, why?
Jake: Ahhh, she allows me to get ANYTHING off the McDonalds menu, and then asks five minutes later, do you want anything else.

I Love Kids!

Bye for know,
we love you ALL

Matty's of Penn State

Easter Sunday

Happy Easter eveyone. I was wondering if we could get Easter changed to May. Whatever happened to little girls in pretty summer dresses and patton leather shoes?

Mom joined us at the Larsons today for Easter dinner and family time. It was very nice. "Martha Stewart" rides again!!

Tim emailed this afternoon with some thoughful ideas about how we could walk down memory lane together with mom..."but as a family." How could we share memories that we have and have others share in that memory?

Then i thought about "the blogspot." Amie and Teddy have one.....a very/very short one! Andria has one...a very creative masterpiece. THATS IT......I could create a blog and we could all write to it and share pics and stories and when mom is visiting you and your family....you could get on the blogspot and read to her and show her pics and write to others! We could all keep up with Rocco and Marco and Brady and Ella and Paige. We could talk about funny stories or ask mom questions about dad, the cabin, her parents, Britts and Town and Country! (Where did that laundry cart come from anyway???)

Well here's hoping that it works! I thought you might enjoy seeing some pictures of mom form the Easter Holiday. She looked so nice. I took her shopping....i was so burnt out you would have thought I tried on all the clothes!!!! She is one FUSSY lady. "Its too tight....They are too long....I cant breath....i can't wear red with my red hair ("cuz my mother always told me that")...my toes right up there to the end" (indecision written all over her face...crooked lip intact!) I dont think she made a single decision yesterday.....hence my collapse afterwards!

Perched like Lady Godiva!!! She really enjoyed being dressed up and feeling so pretty!!!! It reminded me of the days that she hosted bridge club. Wonder if she walked off with all the thin mints??

She loves her new sneaks. Put a bounce in her step all day!

She kept referring to herself as "HIP."

She asked the women at the TJmaxx counter if she thought the sneakers were HIP. The women amusingly glanced over and remarked "the shoes are very HIP." At the time Aric chimed in....."yea me too." The clerk smiled and asked Aric.. "do you think the shoes are HIP?" Aric replied, "no, I am!"

sorry bout the double pic...couldn't remove it!

Just chillin! Off to John and Sue's. (psssss....dont tell, but i'll pretend I didn't eat yet!)

Look forward to hearing from you! Good night!
