What sounds warmer than a smooth cup of coffee on the coldest day of the year???
How about our own roasted, ground, and brewed coffee!!!!!We bought the roaster on a whim. It was too incredible to pass up.
That was a year or more ago.
For Ted....Every task has more than one purpose. Every job yields many prizes. He runs on full tilt at all times. always thinking...re-duce, re-use, and re-cycle. He manages to build empires of stations that serve one purpose or another. Work cubbies that have essential pieces of equiptment. Equiptment that begins the process of re-incarnation from the time he picks "it" up until it takes on new meaning and function. What ever it is....it's valuable! And so the process of preparing for "roasting day" began........ the day the roaster came home. One small functional piece after another...and finally the beans. He ordered them last week......25 lbs. and when he opened the burlap bag we ran our fingers through the beans like we were sifting through an illegal shipment.
Odd as it sounds.....I was sound asleep on sunday morning, vividly dreaming!!!!!!!!....some female manager at Griggs was crying on my shoulder stating that her only reliable employee had been fired. She was referring to Ted, who took a moment from waiting on his customers to come over to me and explain that he had been fired................i awoke............and the roaster was churning outside my bedroom door! He was roasting 5 lbs to test the water!
Satisfied that the roaster ran like a gem we headed out to roast the other 20 lbs. He is truly a resourceful guy! When are we going to get lost in the wilderness so he can save me????

THE PADDLES TOSS THE BEANS INSIDE THE DRUM

READY
DUMP
How did that one bean not get a tan???????????????
Gotta get em out of there.....he'll ruin the grinder!!!!Not sure whats next.........except it's my turn to pick a green bean.......I can promise you it won't be "The Poorman's Blend." (which we got to make sure everything was gonna be ok)

We drove to Penn State for a soccer game. We met John and Jake there and then she went to stay with them for a a few days. HEY LADY......WHERE IS MY COAT?????
AND>>>>>>>ARIC had a game too!!!!! The 2 of them are silly all weekend!!!!! If you could here their conversations!!! As if Aric "gets it all" they converse all day! He follows her around like Sally follows me. He's a much better "watch dog" than Alex. Mom came to visit this past summer and decided (behind my back) to "go for a walk." (because that is what she is use to doing daily).....So she walked down the driveway and passed Alex as he was driving up the driveway. He stopped....like a good boy...wished her good morning and asked where she was going...."For a walk" ......she replied! He smiled...."Have a nice walk mom-mom." You don't want to know what happened to Alex!
I also had the opportunity to take mom to see Uncle Bob and Aunt Marcia. We ran into Keith and Nancy at the Growers Market. They met us at Sycamore, where both aunt Marcia and Uncle Bob reside. It was a very nice visit.

Aunt Marcia hasn't been well. She was a trooper however, came down to the dining room with us and had cookies and juice.
Mom and Uncle Bob watching an oldy but goody!!!!!!!!! Anybody know what it is???
Mom accompanied Uncle Bob to lunch. She would make such a great companion to him!
It's so nice to just be a fan!!!!!!!!
SUCH A LUCKY KID. DEDICTED TO WHATEVER HE IS DOING.
as if he could be heard...."I don't have a good feeling about this!!!"
COOPER REALLY ENJOYED IT TOO!!
